The Mind First Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Boston-area scientists and innovators. The Foundation takes a mind-centric or “mind first” approach to managing large-scale problems, by focusing on research and development of better AI and human mindware, and the development of a mutually beneficial relationship between the two. The Foundation maintains a close network of consulting scientists, who are leaders in their respective fields.
Preston Estep, Ph.D. is Chief Scientist and founder of the Mind First Foundation and the RaDVaC project. Dr. Estep studied neuroscience at Cornell University where he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute undergraduate scholar. He holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University. He has been a founder or advisor to the Harvard Personal Genome Project, and to many biotech startup companies.
Alex Hoekstra is Director of Community and co-founder of the Mind First Foundation, and of the RaDVaC project. He has previously served as both a staff member and participatory research pioneer at the Harvard Personal Genome Project, and worked to advance accessibility and rationality across multiple fields of life sciences.
Ranjan Ahuja is Director of Communications at the Mind First Foundation and RaDVaC, and co-founder of RaDVaC. He is also a staff member (currently on leave) at the Harvard Personal Genome Project. He is committed to accelerating benefits to society through open source and open access science.
Brian M. Delaney is Chief Philosophy Officer at the Mind First Foundation, and Clinical Trials Liaison at RaDVaC. He has founded and run several nonprofit and not-for-profit research organizations focused on health and longevity, with a particular emphasis on mental and neurological health.
